Employers are advised to take the necessary steps to
register their foreign worker's medical examination with
Fomema within a period of 3 months before the
expiry of work permit to avoid any inconvenience.
SELECTION OF DOCTOR
The selection of doctor for the medical examination of
foreign workers is the responsibility and decision of
employers.
Please refer to the list of panel of doctors displayed
here for the selection.
Staff at Fomema's branches are not responsible for the selection of the
doctor.
PASSPORT FOR IDENTITY VERIFICATION
Please be informed that foreign workers need to produce
their passports for verification of their identity by
the doctors and X-ray clinics in order to carry out
their medical examination.
THE X-RAY TEST
A foreign worker can proceed to carry out X-ray test
only after he/she has undergone the physical medical
examination by the doctor.
EMPLOYERS WITH LARGE NUMBERS OF FOREIGN WORKERS
Please be informed that each Doctor is allowed to carry
out only a limited number of medical examinations per
day. As such, employers who have a large number of
foreign workers should make an appointment with the
Doctor/X-ray Centre to schedule their foreign workers'
medical examination beforehand.
DOCTOR'S QUOTA
The Ministry of Health has directed that each
clinic be allowed to only examine a maximum of
500 foreign workers per year for fair allocation
among the doctors.
When this quota has been met, the clinic would
be 'suspended' from seeing any more foreign
workers for the year.
Employers wishing to send foreign workers to
these clinics are required to submit their
appeal to the Ministry of Health via Fomema.
The final decision is with Ministry of Health
and not Fomema.
TRANSMISSION OF WORKER'S HEALTH STATUS
The status of the medical examination of foreign workers
shall be transmitted electronically to the Immigration
Department within 10 working days from the date of the
medical examination.
WORKERS HEALTH STATUS AT IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT
